Hello and thank you for your eyes. As our Summer is winding down, my thoughts today are drawn toward one of the weekly happenings here at our store. Our weekly Jam at Capo’s begins every Saturday night at around 6pm. I am often asked “What music do the jammers play” the answer-it is a variety. We hear music from the Gospel genre to Bluegrass to Country to Old Time to Folk. It all depends on who shows up and what their preferences are. The only thing required of the folks in the circle is they bring their own acoustic instrument and they take turns. It is indeed a thing of beauty to hear the store filled with music. At times, the jam has drawn over sixty people into the store wanting to hear and play music. We welcome all folks to come and join us. There is coffee and good fellowship to be had whether one plays or just decides to be social and listen. Through the course of our 5 years here at the store we have had the pleasure of meeting folks from all over the globe at our jam. We are a Crooked Road affiliate venue and as such, folks are able to find us through the Crooked Road literature and make us a destination on their journey. We have had bikers from Canada, hikers from Maine, folks from all 50 United States, England, France, Germany and most recently South America come and enjoy the music being made in the store. The jam at Capo’s is a stop for many of the pickers in the area who grace the nursing homes and community centers with their music on a weekly basis and we are very happy to have them join us every Saturday night. It is a welcoming and friendly environment for folks of all ages, and we do hope you will make it a point to join us whenever you can.
